Diadem jewellers in Altrincham has adopted a fresh approach to how their customers can pay for their goods as they now accept BitCoin. They are the first business in Greater Manchester to accept the virtual currency since the launch of their website.
Online Manager Alexander Young said the benefits of BitCoin could see it used as the currency of the future, as more and more businesses are forced to adapt in a modernised commercial world.
Alexander, 27, said: “I think you have to remember that in today’s society you have to adapt or die, and if people want to succeed, it’s all about being flexible and open to trying new things.”
BitCoin is a form of electronic currency invented in 2008, which uses peer-to-peer technology.
The shopper can trade their cash to buy BitCoin currency, a type of electronic, online cash that can be spent on websites accepting the innovative ‘virtual’ money.
And Alexander believes that BitCoin payments are an easier and safer way for businesses to accept online transactions via a website. Alexander explains that the transaction via BitCoin as not reversible so this is great news for the trader.
